Ronald John Barnhart, 74 of Louisville, passed away at his home on April 18, 2020. Ron was born to Floyd and Lillian (Scheller) Barnhart on January 17, 1946, in Omaha, Nebraska. Ron married the love of his life, Jean Sprieck, at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Papillion, Nebraska on January 16, 1964 and to this union they raised two daughters Robin and Renae.
Ron spent his life farming and working with cattle. He was raised on a farm in Sarpy County before moving with his family to a farm in Cass County when he was in 7th grade. He lived on this Cass County farm, growing crops, and raising cattle until 2006. After moving to their new home on Hwy 66, he worked as a cattle buyer at both Dunlap Livestock Auction and West Point Livestock Auction.
Ron is survived by daughters Robin M. Steinke (Barry Robeson), of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, and Renae J. Keefer (Bob Smisek), of Papillion, Nebraska, grandchildren Alex Steinke, of Central City, Nebraska, Macaela (Josh) Stuart, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, Amanda and Dylan Keefer, of Papillion, Nebraska, great grandchildren, Isabella and Lucas Stuart.
Ron is preceded in death by his wife Jean Barnhart; parents: Floyd and Lillian Barnhart; and his brothers: Earl Anderson, Richard Barnhart, and Robert Barnhart.
Private family services will be held and the family suggest memorials to "The American Cancer Society".
