Rose Eileen Bartling was born August 22, 1912, at home in rural Unadilla, Nebraska, to Henry D. and Edla A. (Van Meter) Stubbendieck. She passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013, at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center, Syracuse, Nebraska, at the age of 100 years, 9 months and 12 days.

Rose married Herman W. Bartling, on January 18, 1933, at St. John's Evangelical Church, Syracuse, Nebraska and to this union they raised three children Larry, Rosita, and Randall.
She worked in the Dairy Sweet, Shoe Store and Bakery all in Syracuse. Rose was a member of the Extension Club (Russell Creek), Hospital Aux., St. John's U.C.C. Women's Fellowship and cousin & friend card party groups

Rose is survived by her daughter Rosita Kreifels of Falls City, NE, Sons Larry (Marcia) Bartling of Syracuse, NE, Randall (Rhonda) Bartling of Grand Island, NE, 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren 9 great great grandchildren, and her bother Roy Stubbendick, of Lincoln, NE

Rose is preceded in death by her Parents Henry and Edla Stubbendieck, Husband Herman, Brother Dale Stubbendick and Great Grandchild Olivia Bartling and Grandchild Jennifer Wesley Son-in-law Mark Kreifels.

Funeral service will be Saturday, June 8th 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ, 511 7th Street, Syracuse, Nebraska, with burial at Park Hill Cemetery, Syracuse, Nebraska. Family Suggests Memorials in lieu of flowers to a Food Pantry in your town in Rose Bartling's name.

Visitation will be Friday, June 7th from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
