Rosina Margarethe Katharine Albers, 97 of Syracuse, was born Nov. 24, 1919 to Henry and Meta (Leefers) Bormann on the family farm near Otoe. She passed away on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. She was baptized Dec. 21, 1919 and confirmed May 7, 1933 at the North Branch First Lutheran Church. She attended Dist. 10 country school thru the 10 th grade. Rosina was united in marriage to Lorenz Albers Jr. on Sept. 12, 1940 at North Branch Church.
They began their life on a farm north of Syracuse. In 1943 the family moved to a farm near Otoe. Rosina was a homemaker who loved being outdoors in her garden and flowers. She was a member of Jolly Workers Extension Club and Church circle for many years. She enjoyed cards, belonging to a few groups. She sewed and sold many quilts, Barbie doll clothes and knitted afghans. She and Lorenz retired to Syracuse in 1990. There she enjoyed going to the Senior Center. Rosina was devoted to her family and friends. Always willing to be there with helping hands.
She is survived by Son: Leland, Daughter-in-law: Kathy and Grandson: Jason. Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law: Gilbert and Linda Albers of FL; Sisters-in-law: Delores Albers of IA, Jean Albers of Millard; Special Friend: Margaret Stubbendick; also nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: John & Betty Albers, Fritz & Clara Albers, Dale & Bernice Stubbendick; brothers-in-law: Gerald Albers & Robert Albers.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, Oct. 6 at 10:30 A.M. at First Lutheran Church (North Branch) in rural Avoca, NE. Burial will be held at First Lutheran Cemetery (North Branch).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 5 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Syracuse Rescue Squad or First Lutheran Church (North Branch).
