Obituary

** SERVICE TIME CHANGED DUE TO WEATHER**

Roy Wachter was born September 10. 1912, in rural Palmyra, Nebraska to Herman and Lydia (Moss) Wachter. He passed away on December 4, 2009, at Tabitha Care Center, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 97 years, 2 months, and 24 days.

Roy married Sarah Weber on April 13, 1940 at Shenandoah, Iowa. To this union, they raised 2 daughters – Barbara and Helen. Roy was a member of the District #85 School Board and the Palmyra Elevator Board. He was a 60 year member of the Palmyra United Methodist Church. Roy farmed until he was 80 years old. He, also, worked at the Nebraska State Fair for 30 years. Roy loved to play Pitch at the Palmyra Senior Center. In younger years, he loved to play baseball, hunt, and was on a bowling league in Syracuse.

Roy is survived by daughters Barbara Conway, of Lincoln, NE, Helen & Rod Bremer, of Huntley, WY, grandchildren Shawn Conway, of South Carolina, Travis Conway & Melissa, of Lincoln, NE, Douglas Bremer, of Rocky Ford, CO, Steven & Michelle Bremer, of Lincoln, NE, Kristin & Cary Heath, of Littleton, CO, 7 great grandchildren, brother-in-law Jake Weber, St. Louis, MO, and sisters-in-law Esther Spencer, Oklahoma City, OK, Ruth Thompson, of Beresford, SD, Helen Mossman, of Emporia, KS, and Lillian Weber, of Lincoln, NE, along with many nieces nephews and friends.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents Herman & Lydia Wachter, and wife Sarah in 2002, 2 brothers Charley and Glenn, and 2 sisters Inez Sheesley, and Nina Wolken.

**UPDATE** Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 10, 2009, at 1:30 P.M. at Fusselamn Wymore Funeral Chapel, 644 Park Street, Syracuse, Nebraska, with burial at the Eagle Cemetery. Family suggest Memorials to Palmyra United Methodist Church, or Palmyra Senior Center.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 8, 2009, from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M., and Wednesday, December 9th, from 9 A.M. until time of Service.
