Ruby B. Grundman, 92 of rural Talmage, passed away in Syracuse on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017. She was born on Dec. 7, 1925 to Max & Maude (Page) Ebert. She was baptized, confirmed and married at First Lutheran Church (North Branch). Ruby attended grade school at Dist. 87 through 7 ^th grade. She later attended Otoe high school till 10 ^th grade and graduated in 1943 from Syracuse High School. Ruby attended Peru State College where she received her teaching certificate.

Before she was married she taught in rural schools for 4 years. Ruby married Ralph Grundman on June 5, 1947 at North Branch Church. Four daughters and two sons were born to this marriage. Ruby served as a 4-H leader and served on the 4-H council. She also was active at St. John's Evangelical (McWilliams) Church where she taught Sunday school, bible school and was in charge of the cradle roll for a number of years. She also served as the Band Parents President, and was in the SYRA-MC-DELS Home extension club.

Ruby was an avid gardener and canned or froze many quarts of food from her garden. For many years, she exhibited her produce and flowers at the Otoe County fair.  Ruby enjoyed baking loaves of bread for family and friends. She also loved her flowers and rose garden. Ruby enjoyed quilting and made something for each member of the family.   She liked getting together with friends to play cards especially pinochle.  In later years she enjoyed fishing and having the farm as the headquarters for the deer hunters.

She is survived by her Daughters: Elaine (Gerald) Moore of Lincoln, Donna (Edward) Damme of Talmage, Karen (Lester) Roeber of Ashland, Dianne (Jim) Bohlken of Lincoln; Sons: Richard (Christine) Grundman of Lincoln, Ronald (Marybeth) Grundman of Talmage; 15 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; Sister: Viola Gartner; Sisters-in-law: Irma Grundman, Lois Ebert and Brother-in-law: Jack Stilwell.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 70 years Ralph, sister & brother-in-law: Pauline & Herb Goad, sister: Maxine Stilwell, brother: Charles Ebert, brother-in-law: Ralph Gartner, brother-in-law: Vernon Grundman, brother-in-law & sister-in-law: Norbert & Edna Grundman.

Funeral Services: Friday, Dec. 29 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's UCC located at 511 7 ^th St. in Syracuse.

Visitation: Thursday, Dec. 28 from 1 P.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5-7 P.M. at St. John's UCC.
