Ruby Emily Peterson, 99 of Syracuse, was born on July 12, 1915 in Burr, NE to Charles & Minnie (Neemann) Gross. She passed away on November 23 at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center.

Ruby graduated from Syracuse High School in 1934 and then attended Peru State College to get her teaching certificate. She taught at Mud Turtle College and also worked at Syracuse Produce & Tammy Feeds, but her favorite job was being grandma. Ruby married Wayne E. Peterson on July 30, 1941 in Lincoln, NE.

Ruby served 50+ years in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was a Member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. Her interests included gardening, flowers, canning, being a farmers wife, following the activities of her children and grandchildren and was an avid Husker fan.

She is survived by her 3 Sons & Daughters-in-law: James (Mary) Peterson of Syracuse, NE, Gerald Peterson of York, NE, Robert (Debra) Peterson of Cave Creek, AZ; 5 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren & sister-in-law Naomi Gross.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne, sisters: Doratha Gross, Esther Schreiner & Kay Frances, brothers: Ernest & LeRoy Gross, grandsons: Nathan Stander & Chad Wichmann.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday November 26 at 11 A.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse.

Burial will precede services at 10 A.M. at Park Hill cemetery in Syracuse.

Family suggests memorials to the Family's Choice.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 25 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6 until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
