Russell O. Martinson, 93 of Syracuse, passed away on March 13, 2018 in Omaha. He was born on November 4, 1924 to Oliver & Clara (Ellingsworth) Martinson near Clarkfield, MN.

Russell served in the Army during WWII. He married Erna Streich on February 17, 1951 in Granite Falls, MN. Russell owned and operated Syracuse Sanitation for over 30 years. He was a member of the Syracuse American Legion Post #100 and Syracuse VFW #5547. He was also a member of the Syracuse Volunteer Fire Dept. and Syracuse Chamber of Commerce. Russell enjoyed being outdoors, taking long drives and always found time for a game of cards. Most of all he loved attending all of his grandchildren's events.

He is survived by his daughters: Sharon (Bill) Davis, JoAnn (Steve) Gotschall, 8 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandson, Brother: John Martinson, Sister: Eileen Pyle. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Daughter: Deb Huske, Sisters: Olivine Haroldson, Doris Brovald.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 17 at 10:30 A.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse. Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 16 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Syracuse Senior Center or Syracuse Fire Dept.
