Ruth Rose Doeden was born on October 6, 1921 to Johnny and Margaret (Walker) Powell in rural Sterling, Nebraska. She died on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the Belle Terrace Care Center in Tecumseh at the age of 88 years, 9 months, and 2 days.
Ruth married Emil Walter Doeden on March 8, 1941 in Rockport, Missouri. To this union were born eight children - 5 sons-Robert, Ray, Wayne, Charles, and Dale and 3 daughters- Arlene, Karen, and Dianne. She was a busy wife and mother. She taught in several one-room schools, and worked for many years at Campbell Soup in Tecumseh. Ruth enjoyed various activities like fishing, gardening, quilting, crossword puzzles and crafts.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Barney) and wife Cheryl Doeden of Syracuse, NE, Ray Doeden of Unadilla, NE, Wayne and wife Sharlene Doeden of Yucaipo, CA, Charles and wife Cynthia Doeden of Valley, NE, and Dale and wife Lavinia of Cook, NE, daughters, Arlene and husband Paul Ramp of Friend, NE, Karen and husband Craig Spracklin of Valley, NE, Dianne and Tim Kemp of Hills, IA, 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, brother Darrell Powell of Ashland, NE, sister Darlene Drake, of Lexington, Kentucky, and sister-in-law Jonnie Powell of Yucaipo, CA, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law Maryellen Doeden, grandson Mitchell, and brother Richard Powell.

She will be remembered and missed by family and friends.
