Sarah Jean Lorensen, age 85, of Weeping Water, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025 at CHI Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.  She was born on August 5, 1939 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Willis G. and Ida E. (Cappen) Lorensen.

Sarah graduated from Weeping Water High School in 1957. That same year, she married Kenny Hauschild, with whom she shared 14 years of marriage and four children. In 1971, Sarah returned to her hometown from Nehawka, where she would reside for the rest of her life.

Sarah devoted many years of service to her community, working for the Weeping Water Public School system before joining Texas Gulf, where she was a dedicated employee for 23 years. A lifelong and faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Weeping Water, Sarah had been active in the congregation since the age of 13. She was also a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Nebraska City Eagles Club, and the United Methodist Women.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Ida Lorensen; her granddaughter, Amanda Hauschild; and her brother, Richard Lorensen.

She is survived by her sister, Margaret Lorensen Oxford of Texas; her four children: Steve (Mary) Hauschild, Shirley (Alvin) Brack, Scott Hauschild, and Sue (Chris) Snyder; her 11 grandchildren: Mindy, Marcy, Michelle, Jason, Craig, Linda, Lori, Chase, Colby, Dustin, and Joshua; and 25 great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Weeping Water. The service will be livestreamed on the Fusselman Facebook page. Burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Weeping Water.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15 from 2-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Weeping Water.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
