Sharon L. Eggert, 83 of Murdock, passed away on January 28, 2025, at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. She was born on May 30, 1941, to George C. & Helen L. (Johanson) Nelson in Omaha. Sharon graduated from Central High School in the class of 1959. On April 8, 1961, she married Robert L. Eggert at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Omaha. Sharon and Robert became charter members of Kings of Kings Church in Omaha in 1962.
Sharon began her career at Omaha Works, followed by working at Richman-Gordman. After moving to Murdock in 1976, she continued her in-home daycare. She also worked the gates at the State Fair for 30 years and Target for 10 years. Sharon was active in her community as a member of the Women's Group at Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Lions Club and Murdock Moderns Extension Club. She enjoyed being part of a Friday night bowling league and was known for her love of bargain shopping. Sharon cherished the outdoors, especially when camping and fishing, and took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, attending their sporting events, and caring for them.
She is survived by her husband Robert L. Eggert of Murdock; daughter Teri (Daniel) Choat of St. Edward, NE, Mike (Annette) Eggert of Murdock, Brenda (Alan) Brockhoff of Murdock; special family friend Darren Brauer of Omaha; grandchildren Adina Choat, Bartholomew Choat, Caleb Choat, Delilah (Alex) Potter, Evey Choat, Fina Choat, Cole Eggert, Thomas Eggert, Jessica Brockhoff, Candice Brockhoff, Angela Brockhoff; great grandchildren Aidan Choat, Alayna & Raylin Potter; brother & sister-in-law Steve & Patricia Nelson of Arizona; also numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Tyler Eggert, brother Larry Nelson; father-in-law and mother-in-law Edwin & Agnes Eggert; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Eugene & Margaret Eggert.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 31 at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Louisville. The service will be livestreamed on the Fusselman Facebook page. Burial will follow at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Elmwood.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
