Shirley Harms was born on December 13, 1934 to Winfred and Marie (Teten) Holscher. She passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Community Memorial Hospital in Syracuse at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 11 days.

She graduated from Syracuse High School in 1952 and then worked in various capacities at OPPD for over 40 years. She was united in marriage to Dale E. Harms on May 16, 1956 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse. Together they raised two daughters, Kyle and Kim.

Shirley was a member of Christ Lutheran Church (Delaware) where she was active with the Women's group for many years. She also was very active with various activities within the American Legion Post #100 Auxillary. Outside of her memberships, she enjoyed singing and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by Children: Kyle Anderson & David of Syracuse, NE; Kim Randall & Kevin of Bennet, 7 Grandchildren: Lindsey Klassen, Tyson & Molly Hermann, Shawn Hermann & fiancé Brittny Murphy, Adam Anderson, Adam & Stephanie Randall, Angela Randall, Ashley & Jim Field, 13 Great Grandchildren; Sister: Phyllis Goedke & Bill of Clovis, NM, Sister-in-law: Dolores Holscher of Lincoln, NE, Brother-in-law: Jim Harms of Reno, NV, Sister-in-law: Delores Cloyed & Norman of Lincoln, NE, Also survived by numerous nieces/nephews & cousins.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, husband: Dale E. Harms, brother: LaVern Holscher, sister: Janice Lea Genthe.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church (Delaware) in rural Syracuse, Nebraska with Rev. Glatha Rathjen officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 27th from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse, Nebraska.

Memorial may be directed to the family for future designation.
