Shirley A. Miller, 86 of Syracuse, passed away February 14, 2017 at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. She was born on July 17, 1930 to Willis & Inez (Cross) Hartzer in McCook, NE.

Shirley married Donald Fred Miller on September 21, 1952 in Wauneta, NE. She was active in the American Legion & VFW Auxiliary in Syracuse. She also helped with Meals on Wheels and was an avid bowler. Shirley enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities and she always supported local sporting and band events.

She is survived by her Children: DeLane (Sharon) Miller of Albany, Oregon, Donett Ann (Darryl) Herring of Omaha, Darin Don (Laura) Miller of Lincoln; 18 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; Brother: Gaylin (Loyann) Hartzer of Wauneta; Sister-in-law: Beth Ann Hartzer of Culbertson. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Son: Dana Ray – 2003; Grandson: Caleb; Brothers: Wallace & Harold Hartzer.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse. Burial will be at Park Hill cemetery.

Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to the Syracuse Band or Syracuse Sports Complex.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 17 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home in Syracuse.
