Shirley A. Rose, age 71, passed away peacefully at the Louisville Care Center in Louisville, Nebraska on March 27th, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.  Born on August 27, 1951 in West Point, Nebraska, Shirley was the daughter of Arthur F. Grashorn & Regina Westermann.

She grew up in Papillion, Nebraska, and graduated from Papillion High School in 1969. On December 6, 1969, she married, Loran R. Rose, and they remained devoted to each other for 39 years.

Shirley worked as a special needs bus driver for Louisville Public Schools, where she touched the lives of countless students with her warmth, kindness, and patience. She later took on a new role as a Warehouse Operator/Trainer for PVP in Omaha for many years, where she was known for her hard work, and dedication.

In her free time, Shirley enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word searches, and bargain shopping at garage sales. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved spending time playing cards with her family and friends.

Shirley is survived by her children, John Rose of Lapeer, MI and Jeff Rose of Des Moines, IA, granddaughter, Avery Zakrzewski of Lincoln, NE, sister, Nancy (Ken) Cohn of Lincoln, NE, brothers, Vernon (Jodene) Grashorn of Louisville, NE and Kevin Grashorn of Bellevue, NE.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Regina Stump, step-father, Eugene "Cliff" Stump, husband Loran Rose, sisters, Janice Cheney, Connie Haney and brother Loren Grashorn.

A visitation with family will be Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 4:30 PM at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Louisville, Nebraska.

Burial will be held later at the Omaha National Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Shirley's honor can be made to the Louisville Volunteer Fire Department.
