Shirley N. Wallen age 87, of Syracuse formerly of Palmyra passed away on June 22, 2014 in Syracuse, NE. She was born on June 27, 1926 to Raymond and Hilma Underhill.

Shirley married Dale Wallen on August 15, 1954 in Grand Island, NE. She was a member of the Palmyra Presbyterian Church and was very active in the church groups as well as being the organist and choir director. She was also a member of the Republican Women.

Shirley is survived by her husband: Dale of Syracuse, Children: Wayne (Mary) Wallen of Palmyra, Larry (Becky) Wallen of Lincoln, Marsha (Joe) Sand of Syracuse; Grandchildren: Katherine (Simon) Connett, Jerry Wallen, Matt Wallen, William Wallen, Cassandra Wallen, Garrett Sand, Lauren Sand; Great Grandchildren: John Connett, Henry Connett; Sister: Vena Pace of Grand Island, also numerous nieces, nephews & friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Raymond & Hilma Underhill, granddaughter: Christina Wallen, siblings: Earl Underhill, Myra Underhill, Morris Underhill, Ed Underhill, Joan Bray and Ruth Goodrich.

Funeral Service will be on Thursday June 26th at 10:30 A.M. at the Palmyra Presbyterian Church in Palmyra, NE. Burial at Unadilla Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 until 7 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home in Syracuse.
