Sophie K. Beck, age 94, of Louisville, NE passed away on November 18, 2013, at the Louisville Care Community.

Sophie was born, October 27, 1919 to Bernt & Augusta (Knake) Wilken, in Talmage, NE. She was raised around the Sterling, NE area, one of ten children. she moved several times in her life, but settled in Louisville with her husband, Junior Beck. They both worked at Platte River State Park for several years. Sophie loved her job, and the people she worked with. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, embroidery work and especially birds. Sophie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran in Weeping Water, NE.

Sophie is survived by her son, Delmer Neemann, of Weeping Water, NE, daughter, Verna (Steve) Meisinger, of Louisville, NE, Three granddaughters Kim (Andrew) Harris, of Omaha, NE, Kris (Dan) Fosmer, of Highland, MI, and Karen (Dana) Duensing, of Lincoln, NE, by nine great grandchildren; Jamie, Megan, Kayla, Sarah, and Alex, of Omaha, NE, Nathan and Alexis, of Highland, MI and Brandon and Jenna, of Lincoln. Sister, Hilda (Richard) Kasl, of Wilber, two sister-in-laws, Tina Wilken, of Cook, and Dorothy Wilken, of Bllingham, WA. Brother in law Sam (Loretta) Beck, of St. George, UT, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernt and Augusta Wilken, and husband Junior Beck, 1997, and by her brothers, Henry, William, Ben, Herman, and John, and by sisters Alma, Sena, and Rosie.

Funeral service will be Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 36712 Church Road, Louisville, Nebraska, with burial at Oakwood Cemetery following the Meal at Church. Memorials are suggested to Louisville Care Community or Platte River State Park.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. all at the Funeral Home.
