Stephen Zorkowski was born February 6, 1923, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Edmond and Mary (Klaus) Zorkowski. He passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Rehabilitation Center of Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 89 years, 5 months, and 15 days.

Stephen married Bertha Wischmeyer, on April 10, 1943, before serving in the United States Navy from 1943 until 1946. To this union, they raised their two children Stephen Jr. and Mary Lou. He farmed for 47 years. Before farming, he worked as a Butcher for Armors and after they closed, worked for Wilsons Packing Plant. Later Stephen worked as a Carpenter in Omaha. He loved hunting and fishing. He was very involved in working with the kids with their 4-H Projects.

Stephen is survived by his wife Bertha, of Louisville, NE, son Stephen Zorkowski Jr. and Vickie Greenfield, of Louisville, NE, daughter Mary Lou Gibson and Charles Berge, of Chandalar, AZ. 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren with 2 on the way, one sister Deloris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and sisters.

Graveside Services will be on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 - 10:30 A.M. at St. Johns Cemetery, 7506 South 36th Street, Bellevue, NE. Family Suggests Memorials to the Eagles Club, Plattsmouth, Nebraska

VISITATION will be Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends at the Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
