Sylvester S. Volkmer was born February 14, 1925, at home near Talmage, NE, to Richard & Francis (Heng) Volkmer. He passed away, September 4, 2011, at Good Samaritan Center, Syracuse, NE, at the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 21 days.

Sylvester married Lois Schreiter, on February 11, 1953, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, rural Nebraska City, NE, to this union they raised Steve, Judy, Susan, and Mary. He worked as a Dairy Farmer. He was also a fourth degree Knights of Columbus.

Sylvester is survived by, son Steve Volkmer, of Dunbar, NE, daughters, Judy Neemann & husband Mike, of Lorton, NE, Susan Frey & husband John, of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Mary Clark & husband Jim, of Syracuse, NE, grandchildren, Stephanie Eustler, Jenny Borns, Jacki Stubbendick, Nate Neemann, Dylon Volkmer, Macy, Matt & Meredith Clark, step grandchildren Jacki, Nicki, and John Frey.
Brothers & Sisters, JoAnn Huber, Leon Volkmer, Alberta Webber, and Adrian Volkmer.

Sylvester is preceded in Death by his parents, his wife Lois Ann in 2003, & brother-in-law Bruce Huber

For Sylvester we will have his ROSARY Tuesday, September 6, at 7:00 P.M at St. Paulinus Catholic Church, with Funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paulinus Catholic Church, Syracuse, NE. Burial will be at 1:30, at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Paul, NE, following the Lunch at St. Paulinus. Family Suggests Memorials to the St. Paulinus Building Fund.

VISITATION will be Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 9:00 A.M. till 4:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home, then from 5:00 P.M. till time of ROSARY (7:00P.M.) with family greeting at St. Paulinus Catholic Church, Syracuse, NE. The casket will be open one hour before services at the Church.
