Tammy S. Mason age 56 of Syracuse was born on August 3, 1961 in Lincoln, Nebraska to G. Wesley and Doris L. (Nelson) Smith.   She passed away on December 18, 2017 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, Nebraska.

After graduating from High School, Tammy obtained her LPN certification at Southeast Community College in Lincoln.  She was united in marriage to Edward B. Mason on September 1, 1990 in Brownville, Nebraska.  She worked as a LPN, most recently at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse.  Outside of work, she was involved with Nebraska Special Olympics Chapter.  She also enjoyed working on craft projects and staying in touch with friends.

She is survived by husband, Edward B. Mason of Syracuse, NE; daughter, Tara Layne Mason of Syracuse, NE; step-son, Edward B. Meinke of Beatrice, NE; grandchildren, Daniel, Colton, Wyatt and Charles Meinke all of Beatrice, sister, Leslie (Charles) Harms of Adams, NE, brothers, Randy (Vivian Jones) Smith of Lincoln, NE; Ronald (Gene) Smith of Lincoln, NE; mother-in-law, Roberta Mason of Lincoln, NE, sisters-in-law, Roberta (Julian) Castillo of Lincoln, NE; Laura Matulka of David City, NE; brother-in-law, Joseph (Roberta) Mason of Lincoln, NE.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial services: Friday, December 22, 2017 at 1:00 PM – Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home, Syracuse, NE

Visitation: Thursday, December 21 ^st from 1 P.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
