Theda E. "Teddy" Roecker was born on May 12, 1939 in Randolph, Vermont to Chester and Elnora (Barrett) Manning. She passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at her home in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 68 years, 17 days.

Teddy was united in marriage on December 12, 1970 in Randolph, Vermont to Rolland "Sam" Roecker. Together they raised five children, Brian, Francis, Chester, Nellie and Shery Lynn. She served in the United States Air Force during peacetime and then spent many years as a cook in the food service industry.

She enjoyed bowling, going to sporting events and cheering for her grandchildren. She was also a big fan of the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys.

She is survived by her sons, Brian Roecker of Illionis, Francis Roecker and wife Mary of Lincoln, Nebraska, Chester Roecker and wife Tracy of Syracuse, Nebraska, daughter, Nellie Weaver and husband George of Lincoln, Nebraska seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren, brothers, Dwain Manning of Barnard, Vermont, Chester S. Manning of Lakeland, Florida, Jack Manning of Bethel, Vermont, Fletcher Manning, Castleton, Vermont, Wade Manning, Randolph, Vermont, sisters, Sarah Lane of Hartwell, Georgia, Dawn Hutchinson, Willis, Virginia. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rolland and daughter Shery Lynn.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse, Nebraska with Rev. Paul Coen officiating.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 31st from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and Friday, June 1st from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. The casket will be open one hour before services at the church.

Interment will be held in the Otoe Cemetery with full military rites by Massie Richards Post #100 American Legion and Mid Otoe County V.F.W. #5547.

A Memorial fund in Teddy's name has been established at the Countryside Bank in Syracuse, Nebraska
