Thelma I. Stedman, 95 of Syracuse, formerly of Burr, passed away on December 24, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln. She was born on January 29, 1929, to Herman & Bertha (Pound) Rusch in rural Unadilla, NE. On May 10, 1961, she married Elmer Stedman in Lincoln and they were blessed with a son Clifford.

Before her marriage, Thelma worked as a dipper at Russell Stover, an elevator attendant at the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln, and for American Meter in Nebraska City. After marrying Elmer, she worked alongside him on their dairy farm. She enjoyed spending time with her family, taking yearly trips to see the mountains and fishing. Thelma also had a deep love for animals, especially the milk cows and the dogs on the farm.

She is survived by her son Clifford Stedman, grandchildren by marriage Theresa Money, Jackie Brennfoerder, Russell Ahrens, Jenny (Richard) Hanson, Brad (Kerry) Stedman and Neil (Stephanie) Stedman; daughter-in-law by marriage Burnie Stedman; former daughter-in-law Alicia Stedman; also many great grandchildren by marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter by marriage and son-in-law by marriage Carol Stedman Ahrens & Bud Ahrens, son by marriage David Stedman, grandsons-in-law by marriage Cory Brennfoerder & Matt Money and sisters Margaret Stilwell & Laura Westphal.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Tuesday, January 14th from 5-7 p.m. at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
