Valeria (Wellsandt) Damme was born April 4, 1935 in Nebraska City, the daughter of Elmer and Alma (Glassmeyer) Wellsandt. She married Harvey Damme April 17, 1956 at St. Paul's Lutheran church near Talmage. She was a graduate of Talmage High School, class of 1953. Valeria lived in the Talmage community where she and Harvey raised their family until moving to Syracuse in 2007. Valeria was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Talmage. Valeria worked at Thygeson's drug store in Nebraska City. Valeria was an active member of St. John's Evangelical (McWilliams) Church, rural Talmage. Valeria enjoyed flowers and gardening and especially attending her grandchildren's activities and was very proud of their accomplishments.

Survivors include her husband Harvey of Syracuse, daughter: Debra Wolken and her husband Dale of Adams and sons: Dale and his wife Debbie of Talmage and Lynn and his wife Sherlyn of Syracuse; seven grandchildren, Denae Wolken and fiancé Brady Beckman; Devin Wolken and special friend Anna Dorn; Clayton Damme and wife Ana; Clinton Damme and Makayla Damme; Cody Damme and Ryan Damme; brother-in-law: Edward Damme and his wife Donna; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law and mother-in-law Louis and Anna Damme. Valeria died May 19, 2016, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lincoln at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 15 days.

Funeral services will be held on Monday May 23 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's Evangelical Church (McWilliams) in rural Talmage. Burial will be at the St. John's Cemetery (McWilliams).

Visitation will be held on Sunday May 22 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 4-6 P.M. at the Fusselman Allen Harvey Funeral Home, Syracuse, NE.

Memorials are suggested to the St. John's Cemetery (McWilliams), Talmage Rescue Squad or Family's Choice
