Velda A. Kempke, age 92 of Syracuse, NE passed away on January 2, 2015 at Lancaster Manor in Lincoln, NE. She was born on October 29, 1922 to Fritz & Mamie (Puvogel) Winter in Seward, NE.

Velda was united in marriage to Maynard H.A. Kempke on November 30, 1943 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crete, NE. She worked as a seamstress for Pendleton Mills in Nebraska City. Velda was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church and a Legion Club Member.

She is survived by Sons: Merlin (Merna) Kempke of Fremont, NE; Melvin (Nyhlia) Kempke of North Platte, NE; Michael Kempke of Lincoln, NE; 4 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren, Sister: Ellen Marie (Irving) Stubbendick of Omaha, also many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband: Maynard, Sisters: Dorthea Johns, Delores Wilken, Brother: Fred Winters

Funeral Services will be held at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church on Tuesday January 6 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday January 5 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.
