Verla Probst was born February 8, 1925, in Greenwood, Nebraska, to Carl and Sara (Lau) Kupke. She passed away, March 5, 2013, at the Life Care Center, in Elkhorn, Nebraska, at the age of 88 years, and 25 days.
Verla was confirmed June 18, 1939 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Murdock, Nebraska, and graduated from Ashland High School in 1943. She married Henry "Hank" Probst on September 11, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Murdock, Nebraska. To this union they raised a son, Steve. Verla was a mother and a housewife, and also worked at the Good Samaritan Home in Syracuse for 17 years. Verla and Hank lived on the farm near Syracuse for 28 years, then moved to Cook, in 1979. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and made Baptismal Banners for grandchildren and Baptismal Banners for Grace Lutheran since 1980. Verla enjoyed sewing and Quilting.
Verla is survived by son Steve and.wife Diane Probst of Omaha, NE, 3 Grandchildren Jennifer and husband Chris Langhorst, Jill and husband Sam Selzle, and Joseph Probst; 5 great grandchildren-Lena, Ben, Max, Alex, and Sam; sister Evelyn Haase, of Ashland, along with many nieces and nephews

Funeral Services will be Saturday March 9, 2013 at 11 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church, 306 N First Street, Cook, NE, with burial at Grace Lutheran Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to Lutheran Family Services or Grace Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be Friday March 8 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5:00 until 7:00, all at the Funeral Home.
