Verneel Arlene Noerrlinger, age 85 of Union, Nebraska, passed away on October 15, 2023, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on September 21, 1938, in Beatrice, Nebraska, to her parents Harm & Marie (Paben) Folkerts.
Verneel married the love of her life, Robert Noerrlinger, on February 2, 1957, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Pickrell, Nebraska. Verneel was a devoted farmwife, supporting her husband and family with unwavering dedication.
Verneel was a devoted member of the First Lutheran Church (North Branch) and was actively involved in her community. She had a deep passion for helping on the farm, enjoyed the game of golf, was skilled at crafting, and had a fondness for solving puzzles. Verneel was very talented in the kitchen with both cooking and baking, and her pies were especially famous among her family and friends. Her love for children was evident in her warm and welcoming nature, and she shared her nurturing spirit with all who knew her.
Verneel is survived by her loving husband, Robert Noerrlinger, and their children, Keith (Sandy Brown) Noerrlinger, Lynn (Cris) Noerrlinger, and Jim (Leota) Noerrlinger, all of Union, Nebraska. She also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren and 14 adored great-grandchildren. In addition to her immediate family, Verneel is survived by her sisters-in-law, Helen Fae Haveman of Avoca, Nebraska, Arvilla Noerrlinger of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Darlene Folkerts of Beatrice, Nebraska, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Kathy Gilbert, granddaughter Kelly Gilbert, and her brother LeRoy Folkerts.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 10:00 AM at First Lutheran Church (North Branch) in rural Avoca, Nebraska with Rev. Adam Klinker officiating.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
Burial will be at 1:30 PM on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the East Union Cemetery in rural Union, Nebraska.
