Victor Leon Meisinger was born on November 30, 1931 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska to Victor P. and Marie (Peterson). He passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Midlands Hospital in Papillion at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 9 days.

Leon grew up on a farm west of Plattsmouth, he attended Plattsmouth High School and graduated with the Class of 1949. He continued to farm after graduation with his parents. He met Charlene Haney and the two were married on January 2, 1954 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Plattsmouth. Together they raised three children, Teri, Nancy and Todd. After he left farming he worked at O.P.P.D. until his retirement. Most of his activities involved something that his children were involved with. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #365 of Plattsmouth.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Meisinger of Plattsmouth, NE; children, Teri & John Owings of Corpus Christi, TX; Nancy & Bruce Johnson of Plattsmouth, NE; Todd & Julie Meisinger of Omaha, NE. 6 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandsons, aunt/uncle, Paul & Mildred Bliss of Davenport, IA.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Plattsmouth with Rev. Michael McGregor officiating.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2009 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church.
