Viola M. Sinnen, 95 of Memphis, formerly of Syracuse, passed away on August 3, 2023, in Memphis. She was born to William & Mary (Kastens) Genthe at their home northwest of Syracuse on December 1, 1927. Viola was baptized, confirmed, and would later marry Melvin Sinnen on November 2, 1946, all at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse.

She is survived by her daughters Debra (Gene) Miltner of Memphis, Cindy Thompson of Bartlesville, OK; grandchildren Melissa (Ty) Blakeman Randall, Jessica Blakeman, Zechariah Thompson; great grandchildren Jacob Blakeman, Darian Combs, Satine Thomas and Kalise Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin, son James, granddaughter Katie Thompson, son-in-law Steve Thompson, siblings Raymond (Phyllis) Genthe, Irene (Melvin) Kuenning, Dorothy (Virgil) Seelhoff, William (Janis Lea) & (Lois) Genthe.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Luther Memorial Church in Syracuse. The service will be livestreamed on the Luther Memorial Church, NE YouTube page. Burial will follow the service at the Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
