Obituary

Virginia (Nash) Brinkman, 94 of Lincoln, passed away in Lincoln on Tuesday, March 7 th . She was born on May 8, 1922 to Richard R. & Vella (Dwinell) Nash in Palmyra, NE.

Virginia served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from August 24, 1944 to March 7, 1946 as a Pharmacist's Mate Third Class. On August 24, 1947 she married Ralph Brinkman in Palmyra. She worked at Bryan East hospital until she retired in 1992. Virginia was active in her community as the Silver Creek 4-H Club Leader, member of Nash-Jensen American Legion Post #195 in Palmyra, Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Eastern Star, Flat Water Waves, and Cemetery board. Music was very important to Virginia as she loved playing the piano and organ and attending many concerts in the area. She also enjoyed her vegetable garden, genealogy, reading, crossword puzzles, word searches, feeding the birds, being outdoors and traveling.

She is survived by her Children: Jane (Ken) Wood of Sugarland, TX, Joyce (Jerry) Lee of Omaha, Jeanne (Jerry) Obermier of Lincoln, James F. Brinkman of North Dakota, Julie (Kip) Allison of Gresham, Jonathan (Rhonda) Brinkman of Palmyra; Grandchildren: Brent Spinar, Cheri Wood, Chris (Sara) Lee, Sabrina (Travis) Rozeboom, Lindsay Allison, Jenna Allison, Megan (Mitch) Albers, Sarah (Jeff) Shea, Sonya Hanson, Justine Brinkman, Jared Brinkman; Great Grandchildren: Trevor & Ethan Lee, Pierce Albers, Trey & Taylor Menagh, Darian & Drake Hanson, Jayda Mendez; also many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband: Ralph, Brother: Clinton, Sister: Lois and Great Grandson: Jaxon.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10 th , 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Palmyra. Burial will be at Rosewood Cemetery in Palmyra.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9 th from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to the Palmyra Public Library or Nash-Jensen American Legion Post #195 in Palmyra.
