Obituary
Virginia E. Minderman was born April 16, 1924, in Moody, Texas, to Marshall and Iva (Goad) Hargett. She passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Nebraska, at the age of 86 years, 3 months, and 1 day.
Virginia graduated from Moody High School in 1942. She found the love of her life at a USO dance in Waco, Texas in the spring of 1944. On October 16, 1944, she was united in marriage to Lt. Herman "Bud" Minderman, at the Army Airbase in Liberal, Kansas. Virginia was a devoted wife, seamstress, and mother, who enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Avoca, Evening Star Circle, and choir. She also was a member of the North Branch Sewing Club and American Legion Auxiliary Post #100, and held the offices of president and district president.
Virginia is survived by her children, Susan and Jim Gatchel, of Forrest City, AR, Michael and Barb Minderman, of Nehawka, NE, Rev. Annette Minderman, of Ohiowa, NE, Timothy and Donna Minderman, of Nebraska City, NE, and Ellen and John Moynihan, of Camdenton, MO 12 grandchildren, 24 1/2 great grandchildren, sister Alma Rose and CF Ellis, Troy, TX, brother-in-law Howard Jacobson, Syracuse, NE, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herman "Bud", two brothers, and one sister.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, July, 21 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church, (North Branch), rural Avoca, NE, burial at the Church Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church, of Avoca or Syracuse Rescue Squad.

VISITATION will be Tuesday, July, 20 at the funeral home chapel in Syracuse, from Noon until 9 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and one hour before services at the Church.
