Virginia Lee Hoyt age 81 of Elmwood, Nebraska passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Tabitha Journey House in Lincoln, Nebraska.  She was born on November 10, 1940 in Greybull, Wyoming to Dr. Boyd P. and Thelma (Thompsen) Hill.

Virginia was raised in Wyoming and graduated from High School in  Basin, Wyoming in 1959.  After High School, she attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.  She and James L. Hoyt were united in marriage on June 15, 1963 at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Throughout the years, Virginia worked as a Librarian, a waitress and as a store clerk the the C-Store in Elmwood.  Her greatest love was being a homemaker, mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed reading, working on crafts, collecting antiques and watching movies.  Virginia was involved in a variety of groups and bible studies at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Richard) Woods of Browns Mills, NJ, Christopher "Chopper" Hoyt of Elmwood, NE, grandchildren, Ryan & Riley Woods, Cody, Christopher James, Davianne and Lizabeth Hoyt, daughter-in-law, Rebekah Hoyt-Steele of Raymond, NE, brother-in-law, Ross Hoyt of Pratt, KS.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Hoyt, son, Jamie Hoyt and aunt, Garra Hill.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Pastor Michelle Chesnut officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, February 11, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family present at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home, Elmwood, Nebraska.

Burial will be in Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln, Nebraska.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Hospital.
