Vonia M. Hallowell was born May 21, 1903, to Harry and Thea (Nelson) Peterson in Bennet, Nebraska. She died June 19, 2007, in the Holmes Lake Manor, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 104 years, and 29 days.

Vonia married September 18, 1929, to Raymond Hallowell, in Panama, Nebraska, and to this union they raised 3 children Shirley, Dean, and Boyne. She was a member of United Presbyterian Women, 4 "L" Club, she loved Square Dancing, playing Cards, growing Flowers.

Vonia is survived by her sons Boyne & wife Marlene Hallowell, of Palmyra, NE, and Dean & wife Bev Hallowell, of Pratt, KS, and son-in-law William Childers, of Lincoln, NE,
9 grandchildren Kristi & Chris Moody, Dave & Traci Hallowell, Jan Hallowell, Kay Hallowell, Mark Hallowell, Amy Hallowell, Bill Childers Jr., Holly Watson, and Steve & Jenn Childers
10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild

Vonia is preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, Jan-2-1983, daughter Shirley, 3 sisters Mona, Gladys, and Leora, and a brother Harmon

Services will be Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Palmyra Presbyterian Church, Palmyra, Nebraska, with Rev Barbara Thursby, Officiating

Pallbearers are Dave Hallowell ~ Mark Hallowell ~ Steve Childers
Bill Childers ~ Allen Hallowell ~ Michael Childers with Honorary Pallbearers are Hilton Steadman ~ Wyman Steadman.
Burial will be at Rosewood Cemetery, Palmyra, NE.
Family Suggests Memorials To the Palmyra Presbyterian Church, or Palmyra Senior Center
Visitation, will be Wednesday 12 until 9 P.M. and casket will be open one hour before services at the Church.
