Wanda M. Whited was born on August 28, 1928 in Johnson, Nebraska to Edward J. and Katherine (Yelkin) Dirks. She passed away on Friday, January 26, 2007 at the Lancaster Manor in Lincoln, Nebraska.

She graduated from the Talmage High School in 1946 and attended secretarial school for a time. She was married on March 31, 1948 to Dale Lane at the Christ Lutheran Church (Delaware) in Rural Syracuse, NE. Together they raised seven children, Gary, David, Gloria, Randall, Roger, Steven and Danny. She worked for many years at the Lincoln Corrections Facility as a Switch Board Operator. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church (Delaware), the Red Hat Society and was a Avid Husker Fan.

She is survived by her Children: Gary D. Lane and wife Donna of Nebraska City, NE; David R. Lane and wife Sandy of Kimberly, AL; Gloria J. Sudman and husband Terry of Syracuse, NE; Randall D. Lane and wife Daphany of Stromsburg, NE; Roger E. Lane and wife Dee of Lincoln, NE; Steven K. Lane and friend Rhonda O'Flaherty of Nebraska City, NE: 21 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren; Sister: Edus Volkmer and husband Leon of Red Oak, IA.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Son: Danny L. Lane; Sister: Donna Mae Dirks; Brother: John Dirks; Twin Brothers: Edwin & Ervin Dirks.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the Christ Lutheran Church (Delaware) located in Rural Syracuse, Nebraska, with Rev. Douglas Allen Officiating. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 3:30 P.M. at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln, Nebraska. Visitation will be Sunday, January 28th from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and Monday, January 29th from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to the Christ Lutheran Cemetery.
