Wayne R. Wallen, 61 of Palmyra, met his Creator at the most sacred hour of the day – dawn. He was born on April 4, 1957 to Dale & Shirley (Underhill) Wallen in Syracuse, NE. He passed away at his home on July 30, 2018.

Wayne graduated from Palmyra-Bennet High School and UNSTA in Curtis, NE. He married Mary Willaert on March 29, 1985 in St Peter, Minnesota. Wayne farmed around Palmyra all his life. He was a member of the Palmyra Presbyterian Church, Otoe County Farm Bureau, NE Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee and Camp Creek Threshers. He also enjoyed collecting antiques, family history and attending his kids activities.

He is survived by his Wife: Mary Wallen of Palmyra; Children: Katherine (Simon) Connett of Lincoln, Jerald (Shelby) Wallen of Unadilla, Matthew (Malanie) Wallen of Alvo; Grandchildren: John, Henry & Miriam Connett, Oliver Wallen; Brother: Larry (Becky) Wallen; Sister: Marsha (Joe) Sand; many nieces, nephews and Mary's family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and niece.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11 A.M. at the Palmyra Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at the Unadilla cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 2 from 1 P.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5-7 P.M. at the Palmyra Presbyterian Church.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
