Wesley Harold Hauschild was born March 28, 1947, in Lincoln, NE to Harold and Phyllis (Specht) Hauschild. He passed away at his home on December 2, 2024, reaching the age of 77 years, 8 months and 5 days.

Wes graduated from Syracuse High School in 1964. On September 15, 1966, he enlisted in the Army and served during the Vietnam War. During his service, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star and several other honors. Wes was honorably discharged on September 14, 1972. He married Mirium Eilers on March 4, 1972, and to this union they raised Heidi and Elicia.

Wes was a lifelong farmer, a man of faith and the best dad a girl could ask for!

He is survived by his daughters, Heidi (Ted) Bernard, and Elicia Hauschild, grandsons Nicholas and Andrew Bernard. Brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Linda Hauschild, Bruce and Sasha Hauschild and sister Lori Hauschild-Crosson, most special friend Susan Meyer, mother-in-law Marion Eilers and sister-in-law Ann Faber, three nieces Alexia (Joe) Cruz and family, Natalie Hauschild and Brooke Faber.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mimi and father-in-law Robert Eilers.

A Celebration of Life with family greeting friends will be held on Sunday, December 8th from 2-4 p.m. at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home, 644 Park St. Syracuse, NE.

Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church in Otoe or the Avoca Cemetery.
