Wilford J. (Monte) Ayres was born November 21, 1919 in Verwine, Nebraska to Jesse and Eva Durham Ayres. He passed away on Monday, February 12, 2007 at Midlands Hospital in Papillion, Nebraska at the age of 87 years, 2 months, and 22 days.

Monte married Faye Kivell on March 15, 1943 in Tacoma,
Washington. To this union, 3 sons were born – Mitch, Alan, and Verle. Monte farmed for many years and sold John Deere's. He was a member of the Lion's Club and the Elks Club. Monte served his country in the Coast Guard during World War II.

Monte is survived by wife Faye Ayres, of Murdock, NE, son Mitch, and wife Kathy, of Lincoln, Nebraska, son Alan and wife Linda, of Perry, Iowa, and son Verle and wife Lou Ann, of Papillion, Nebraska, his sister Phyllis Bowling, of Broken Bow, Nebraska, and sister Helen and husband Bob Godard, of Sanford Florida, 7 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents, Jesse and Eva Ayres, brother Walter, sisters Vera Matthews, Verna Termin, Hazel Leach, Lela Ayres, and Mildred Farmer.

His family will have a private Memorial Service this week.
