William (Bill) Gaebel was born on April 6, 1928 to Henry and Dora Stolmann Gaebel at Rural Louisville, Nebraska. He passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the Louisville Care Center at the age of 85 years. 10 months, and 20 days.

Bill married Shirley Iske on June 18, 1950. To this union, they raised 5 children – Roger, Steve, Mike, Billy, and Lori. Bill was a farmer and worked for Pankonin Implement for 42 years. He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church serving in many church offices, including being a trustee. Bill also served for 35 years on the Volunteer Fire Department. He also served on the rural Fire Board for 8 years. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and numerous friends.

Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years Shirley, of Murdock, NE, sons Roger and Linda Gaebel, of Louisville, NE, Steve and Ann Gaebel, of Louisville, NE, Billy Gaebel, of Louisville, NE, and daughter Lori Kullbom, of Lincoln, NE, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren

He was preceded in Death by his parents; Henry and Dora Gaebel, son Michael, brother Charles and Rowena Gaebel, sisters Lenora and Arlie Ragoss, and Verla and Herman Schliefert

Funeral Services will be Monday, March 3, 2014, at 10:30 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 36712 Church Road, Louisville, NE, with burial at the Church Cemetery. Family suggest memorials in lieu of flowers to Louisville Care Center, or Immanuel Lutheran Church

Visitation will be Sunday, March 2, 2014, from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
