William "Bill" H. Werner, 68 of Syracuse, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. He was born on May 26, 1953, to Harold & Phyllis (Petersen) Werner in Syracuse. Bill attended Dist. 38 country school and graduated from Syracuse high school. After graduation he attended Milford Community College and worked for Gartner Construction. He later worked for many years on the receiving docks at Dillards.

Bill was always willing to lend a helping hand. He shared his construction knowledge by helping neighbors with projects, shoveling snow for the Red Cross and even mowing around the apartment building where he lived. Bill was a member of Luther Memorial. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of pies, especially his mom's rhubarb and love of motorcycles and classic rock music.

He is survived by his son George Werner & spouse Crystal; grandchildren Aurora & Emmalyn; sister Judy Souder; brother Dale Werner; also a niece, nephews and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse. The service will be livestreamed on the Luther Memorial Church, NE YouTube page. A public burial will take place on Monday at 2:15 p.m. at Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 22 from 1-7 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 at the funeral home in Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the National Fibromyalgia Association to help find a cure for something Bill dealt with for most of his life.
