William C. "Bill" Ingram II, went to be with his Heavenly Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, on Friday, September 26. Cause of death resulted from a fall he received while doing what he loved most, fishing. He was 79.
Born December 7, 1928, to William and Mary McCarver Ingram in Alliance, Nebraska, Bill moved to Louisville when he was only three-years-old.
Bill graduated from Louisville High School in 1946. After two years of military service, during the Korean War, Bill returned to Louisville where he met his wife Shirley at a St. Patrick's Day dance. They married on August 7, 1954, and raised eight children together.
Bill worked for Ash Grove Cement Company and retired after 42 years of service in 1991. He and Shirley then went on to manage Army Corp of Engineers campgrounds in Chamberlain, South Dakota and Linton, North Dakota, before settling down in Weslaco, Texas for ten years. In 2007 they moved to Grand Island, Nebraska.
Bill was a member of the American Legion Post 353 of Louisville, a member of the St. Leo Catholic Church in Grand Island and a long time member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Manley, Nebraska.
He was an avid fisherman and loved teaching his many grandchildren how to fish. He also enjoyed hunting, and on most Saturday's in the fall, if Bill wasn't at the lake or in the woods, he was watching Nebraska football. He also immensely enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and his beloved dogs.
