Obituary
William F. Vogt age 89 of Unadilla, NE, was born October 10, 1923 to William H. & Martha (Luetchens) Vogt and raised on the family farm near Wabash, NE. He passed away at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center on June 16, 2013 at the age of 89 years, 8 months, and 6 days.
Bill graduated from Elmwood High School and then joined the US Army. While serving in the Army he was stationed in the Philippines during WWII. He safely returned home to marry Gwen, raise a family and spend the rest of his life tilling the land he loved in Cass and Otoe Counties.
He is survived by his children: Harvey (Maureen) Vogt of Unadilla, NE, Velaine (David) Bonebright of Danville, VA, Karen (LeRoy) Howard of Lincoln, NE, Nancy Vogt of Palmyra, NE, grandchildren & great-grandchildren: Jill (Jimmie) Cox and Harvey Cox, all of Unadilla, NE, Holly Vogt of Louisville, NE, Carl (Marcy) Bonebright and Seamus and Charlotte Bonebright, all of Madison, AL, Katie (Dain) Reams of Statesboro, GA, Jason (Tara) Zeorian of Unadilla, NE, Tonya (Donald) Pishna and Deegan Pishna, all of Eagle, NE, Lindsey Hansen and Tavia Hansen, both of Eagle, NE, sister and brothers: Marie (Linnier) Backstrom of Lincoln, NE, Armin (Mary) Vogt of Lincoln, NE, Elmer (Marietta) Vogt of Elmwood, NE, John (Kathy) Vogt of Springfield, OR, brother-in-law: Wendell Walkup of York, NE also nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife: M. Gwendolyn (Seeley) Vogt, parents: William H. & Martha (Luetchens) Vogt, brother & sister-in-law: Lloyd & Joan (Shaw) Vogt, sister: Margaret (Vogt) Walkup, nephew: Steve Vogt.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday June 19 at 11 A.M. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Elmwood, NE. Private family burial will be at an earlier time.
Visitation will be held on June 18 from 1 P.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 7 until 8:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Paul United Methodist Church-Elmwood, Unadilla Fire & Rescue or Unadilla Community Foundation.
