Obituary

Wilma Ruth Dermann was born on August 30, 1920 in Tecumseh, Nebraska to Carl and Francis (Gyhra) Schultz. She passed away peacefully on May 13, 2011 with her family by her side in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 13 days.

She was raised and attended school in the Tecumseh area. On October 16, 1941, she was united in marriage to LeRoy H. (Smokey) Dermann at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska. Together they raised two children Dennis and Nadine. They eventually made their home in rural Cook, Nebraska where they farmed for many years. Despite being a farm wife, Wilma worked in several capacities throughout the years including, sewing for both Teri Lee Dolls and the Syracuse Sewing Factory, in the Food Service Department at the Cook Community Schools and in the U.S. Post Office in Cook and Lincoln.

Wilma was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage) where she was involved with the Women's Fellowship Group and the Osage Quilters Group. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxillary and the Extension Club. Aside from her involvement in community groups, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, spending time outside, baking, cooking, playing cards and especially the time she spent with her family.

Wilma is survived by her Son: Dennis Dermann & wife Donna of Lincoln, NE, Daughter: Nadine Hefner & husband Fred of Bee, NE, Granddaughters: Shannon Snyder & husband Sam of Peoria, AZ, Amy Epp & husband Matt of Omaha, NE, Elishia Kroll & husband Peter, Amanda Griess, all of Lincoln, NE, 7 Great Grandchildren, 3 Step Great Grandchildren Brother: Bill Schultz & wife Delores of Tecumseh, NE, Sisters: LaVelle Pella & husband David of Vesta, NE, Charleen Scott & husband Charles of Tecumseh, NE, Sister-in-law: Eileen Schultz of Adams, NE, Also Survived By: Many Nieces, Nephews and Friends

Preceded in Death By: Parents, Husband: LeRoy, Brothers: Martin & Melvin, Sister-in-law: Luetta Schultz, Brothers-in-law: Glen & wife Lucille Dermann, Sterling Dermann

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage) in Rural Cook, Nebraska with Rev. Curtis Reiger officiating.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 9 AM until 9 PM with family greeting friends from 6 - 8 PM at the Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the St. Paul's UCC Cemetery (Osage).

Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage).
