Brian Harvey
Funeral Director
Brian and Tina Harvey are longtime members of the Plattsmouth Community. Brian is a fourth-generation resident of Plattsmouth and the son of Linda and Bill Worlein and Rick and Judi Harvey, all of Plattsmouth, and the grandson of Janet and the late Neal Snell. His family owned and operated Li-Mi-Rick Lanes, a bowling center in Plattsmouth, for 25 years. After high school, Brian attended Nebraska Wesleyan University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, and then went on to Mortuary College in Kansas City. He has been a licensed funeral director since 2000 and is also a licensed life insurance agent specializing in funeral pre-planning needs. Tina, the daughter of Dr. Allan and Sue Wooters, moved to Plattsmouth in fourth grade when her father was called to pastor Living Water Church. After high school, Tina also attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree. She taught elementary general music for 14 years in Bellevue Public Schools before joining Plattsmouth Community Schools, where she taught elementary music, directed middle school band, and served as the Plattsmouth High School Band Director and spent the past three years as the High School Assistant Principal/Career Academy Facilitator. In July of 2025, Tina assumed the role of Principal at Plattsmouth High School.
Their oldest daughter, Kayla, graduated in May 2025 from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and works as a Labor and Delivery Nurse in Lincoln. In June 2025, she married her high school sweetheart, Chandler Cole, who is a Middle School Health and PE Teacher for Lincoln Public Schools. Their youngest daughter, Courtney, is a sophomore at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, majoring in Business Management and plans to attend Mortuary School to become a Funeral Director and join the family business. Brian and Tina are active members of Calvary Christian Church and, together with their daughters, remain involved in many school, church, and community activities.

Cody Busekist
Funeral Director
Cody Busekist is a lifelong resident of Syracuse. He graduated from Syracuse High School in 2007. He attended Peru State College for 2 years and then attended Mortuary College in Kansas City, where he graduated with a degree in Mortuary Science in 2010. Cody started working with the funeral home in 2010, and in February 2011, he received his funeral director license. Cody is the son of Leonard and Kay Busekist. He is the grandson of Glen and Eunice Schweppe and the late Bill and Phyllis Busekist. He has one brother, Chase Busekist. Leonard works for PCS Phosphate in Weeping Water, and Kay works in Physical Therapy at the Syracuse Hospital. Chase works for J.H. Sporhase Plumbing and Heating in Syracuse. Cody is very involved at St. John’s United Church of Christ. He is on the church council and is a mentor for confirmation.

Administrative Assistant
Jackie, the daughter of Doug and Linda Allen, currently resides in Louisville with her husband and two children. She graduated from Louisville High School in 2003, UNL in 2007, and with her master’s degree from Bellevue University in 2010. In 2021, she decided to make a career change and has joined the family business as an Administrative Assistant. She’s excited to help assist the families in the communities of Otoe and Cass Country during their times of need. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. If possible, she tries to also carve out time to read a good book.

She has been assisting families with pre-planning funerals for over 20 years. Sharon is married to Eric, and they have 2 children and 8 grandchildren. She enjoys traveling, crocheting, shopping at garage sales, and gardening.

Austin Nielsen was born in Syracuse, NE, and later graduated from high school from Centerville High School in Centerville, IA, and graduated from Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny, IA. John Fusselman (Deceased)

Prior to graduating from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science in 1949, John served in the US Army state-side during World War II. He embarked on his career as a Funeral Director beginning in Omaha, NE working for Crosby Kunold Funeral Home. John opened his first funeral home in Louisville, NE in 1953 and later joined partnership with Milo Perry to purchase the Sattler funeral home in Plattsmouth, NE. In 1968, he purchased the funeral homes in Syracuse and Palmyra, NE. John has served on several community and leadership activities including school boards, church councils and professional organizations. He was the past President of the Nebraska Funeral Directors’ Association. In his spare time, John enjoyed gardening and was known for his beautiful flowers and delicious tomatoes. He and Millie developed many long-term friendships while participating in the Syracuse Country Club golf leagues and local Bridge clubs. John passed away on January 19, 2016 at the age of 88 years. Although we miss his encouragement and knowledge, we continue to strive to maintain the high standards of Funeral Service established by the Fusselman Family. John always believed that you need to “love what you do”, and, he truly loved helping families in their time of need.

After receiving his associate’s degree from Peru state and his mortuary of science degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College, Doug Allen became a funeral director in 1994. He and his wife Linda raised their family in the Louisville Funeral Home for twenty-five years! Doug and Linda enjoyed working together with families from all areas that our funeral homes serve. In May of 2020, Doug and Linda moved into a house on a Cedar Creek Lake. Unfortunately, in December of 2020, after a stroke and a bad fall, Doug passed away. Linda misses her partner and teammate of 38 years every day but is thankful for the time with him, the life they created, and experiences they were able to enjoy together.
Doug and Linda have three children - Josh, Jackie, and Jennie. Josh, who is married to Kate, have four children - Maddox, Laine, Reese and Avery. They live in Papillion. Josh works as a Technology Integration Specialist at Lewis Central School District in Council Bluffs. Kate is an awesome, busy stay-at-home Mom. Jackie is married to Jason Heard. They have two children - Jacob and Joslyn. They live in Louisville. Jackie works as the administrative assistant for the funeral homes and Jason works for Ash Grove Cement Company. Jennie is married to Brenden Carl. Jennie is employed in Lincoln, Nebraska as HR Manager for Balchem Animal Nutrition and Health. Brendan works as a para at Louisville Public Schools and is a professional photographer.
Linda is a retired elementary counselor and Classroom Reduction teacher for Louisville Public Schools. She received her Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Nebraska - Omaha. Linda served on the school's Crisis Team, facilitated the school's Safety and Security team, and was the Student Assistance Team Coordinator. She spends her time now helping the funeral home, going to the activities of her grandkids, catching up with friends, and reading. Linda is also preneed counselor for the Funeral Home. Linda remains an owner and integral part to the success of the funeral homes. She feels privileged to be partners, as well as friends, with Tina and Brian Harvey...and enjoy spoiling their girls as much as her grandkids!
